Alzheimer
Alzheimer's disease is a degenerative brain disease becoming the most common cause of dementia. Was discovered in 1907 by Alois Alzheimer German neurologist, pathologist, hence its name (Butcher, 2007).
Dementia unlike delirium that is not fluctuate rapidly but is characterized by the gradual reduction of performance level, following a slow but progressive course ending with the delirium and death. Alzheimer's usually begins after forty-five (Butcher, 2007). First there is a gradual abandonment of the daily activities of the person, most often the thoughts and activities for children and become focused on themselves.
