To my secret admirer and the person who replied twice (!) to my last entry. I do not know who you are and one of those two replies is obviously a result of a ?trigger-happy-blog-posting-finger? and should probably not count. But in my life they both count as true as they are there and I am yours. I hereby let the world know that everyone who ever replies twice to a Needish blog-post will have a special place in my heart. And Anita, for being first, that place will be named after you? Having seen your entries I carefully copy-pasted both of your comments to a clean (especially clean) word-document and printed it on white paper with a border of red hearts on top. Why did we choose Santiago de Chile for our back-office operations? Chile is a free and competitive economy in Latin America. Over the last two decades Chile has established an international reputation as an attractive place to invest, mainly because of its economic and political stability, but also because it offers the best business environment and infrastructure of the region. On a personal level, Santiago offers plenty... located one and a half hour from the beautiful Pacific Ocean and only one hour from the mountains (home of some of the best ski resorts in South America!). Santiago also offers a nice and relaxed life-style for many many nice and relaxed people, from all over the world. Hey there, In March 2007 a group of young international entrepreneurs decided to try to change the world. Our idea was to have people post their Needs and let companies subscribe to them and offer their services. We set up our HQ in the US and an office for development in Santiago, Chile. Our first vision statement said something like: "To solve local Needs world-wide" Over the following months we wrote a business plan, attracted some investors and launched a test-version in our test-market, Chile. Some things worked, some didn't. But we managed to show that companies - big and small, good and bad - were interested in our concepts. Buyers liked us too.
