Voluntariado con Niños en Rauco

Voluntariado en el corazón de la zona agrícola de Chile
Primero, tengo que confesar algo: no paso generalmente mucho tiempo en la compañía de niños. No tengo propios y usualmente no entro en contacto con ellos a través de mi trabajo.
Entonces cuando Voluntary Horizons me pidió ser un “conejillo de indias” en uno de sus programas de voluntariado, cuidando niños en un pequeño pueblo en una región rural de Chile, por un momento lo dudé. ¿Por qué yo? ¿Qué podría aportar yo a un proyecto así? ¿Podría realmente ayudar?
Pero con el espíritu de ‘el que no arriesga, no gana’ me anoté, y me encontré seguidamente en un bus que se dirigió al sur de la capital Santiago hacia Rauco, un pequeño pueblo en el corazón agrícola de Chile.

Let me start with an admission: I don’t spend much time in the company of kids. I don’t have any myself and I don’t often come into contact with them through my work.
So when Voluntary Horizons asked me to act as a “guinea pig” for their volunteer program, looking after school children in a small town in rural Chile, I was hesitant. Why me? What could I bring to such a project? Would I really be able to help?
But in the spirit of ‘nothing ventured, nothing gained’ I signed up, and was soon on a bus heading south from the capital Santiago to Rauco, a small town in Chile’s agricultural heartland.
Here, the only game in town is fruit: cherries, grapes, kiwi fruit, melons, blackberries. You name it – they probably grow (Leer más)

Una encuesta para saber los intereses y disponibilidad de la gente a hacer un trabajo voluntariado en Chile, y a venir de afuera para combinar sus vacaciones con un tipo de trabajo voluntariado.

Este fin de semana es la primera preuba de un proyecto voluntariado en Rauco, cerca de Curico en Chile.
Vamos a llevar un grupo de personas a trabajar cuidando los niños de los trabajadores de la cosecha, entretenerles, y intentar a difundir un sentido de conocimiento y consciencia de la necesidad por el cuidado del medioambiente.
Vamos a installar señaletica en algunas senderos turisticos, y conocer los rutas que la genta local estan intentando acrear para tener una oferta por turistas a venir y conocer la zona.
Estoy buscando 4 participantes mas para venir como voluntarios.

Itinerary 1: South Chile – Rauco & Ruta de los Jesuitas
12 days
Day 1: Travel to CHILE
Day 2: SANTIAGO - RAUCO
On arrival in Santiago, we will take a bus to Rauco.
Days 3-6: Volunteer Project Phase
Duration: 4 days
Location: Rauco
Rauco is a small municipally located next to Curicó in the Maule valley, about 2.5 hours south of Santiago. The main products of the region are fruits and wines. Many famous wineries can be found in the surroundings; nevertheless, the rich-poor divide is striking. Rauco is divided in several rural sectors, of which some are extremely depressed areas.
Accommodation: in Home stays or at a local cabin accommodation.

has been working at this community
for ten years helping them to reenergize their native identities. This
foundation has developed projects dedicated to sustainable tourism and has also
developed a net for commercialization of ethnic furniture and handcrafts of
this and nearby communities. The goal of the non-formal education school is to
try to get kids to participate in its activities so they can help their families
who live in extreme poverty through education. One of the projects in mind for
the foundation is the construction of a cafeteria for the school.
This will bring the kids together in a common area to share their learning
experience together. The objectives of this project is to improve the school
for the children while helping the families, improve the quality of life and
promote cultural exchange.

San Pedro de Atacama attracts tourists
from all over the world. This town is in the centre of some of the most amazing
scenery in Northern Chile. It is close to the
country’s largest flamingo-dotted salt flat, numerous volcanoes, geysers, and
strange and beautiful rock formations found nowhere else in the world. Its past
indigenous heritage is still present in the region´s archeological sites and in
the communities living in little not touristy towns lost in the middle of the
desert.
